Hello everyone,

we are planning to start construction of a bungalow in solid construction for 2015/2016. Since we have planned the floor plan entirely ourselves, we would greatly appreciate your opinions and suggestions. We have already found a suitable plot of land for our project, and in principle, the bungalow can also be positioned on it.

We are most uncertain about the bathroom layout and have initially developed three alternatives for it.

Top left, Yvonne .. there is an arrow

Hmm .. but I see quite a few door handles here ...

    [*]Pure east terrace
[*]West with evening sun not usable at all
[*]Dressing room .. only fits 1 row of wardrobes, is that enough space?
[*]Is the building envelope allowed as is or are there restrictions? What about permitted roof shapes?
[*]Guest room must use the private bathroom

Questions

[*]2-person household .. or is another child planned
    [*]Working from home?

"Private bathroom use" by the guest, however, I do not find bad. I do not know it any other way either and we also build that way. For guests staying overnight occasionally, I would also not install an extra bathroom.

A few essential things strike me at first glance:
- the hallway becomes very dark
- I find the walk-in closet very narrow. And with the window, a wardrobe with a depth of 60 cm doesn’t really fit either. I would also arrange the walk-in closet more in the front area of the bedroom. Also, the space around the bed is not really age-appropriate, but rather tight.
- the storage room is hardly usable. You’re almost better off with a wardrobe there.
- the utility room is also quite small until all the equipment is in there.
- the recessed entrance is very narrow. When you come home with the shopping basket, it becomes very tight and you have to be careful not to bump your knuckles against the wall.
- no door between the kitchen and living room?
- I find the access to the living room somewhat hidden
