If the entrance is not at least in the middle of the house depth, it might as well be at the front and everything stays the same.

Okay, then we have to stick to the first option. Do you also see a way to design the whole thing as an island kitchen?

Only with a shed roof:
(Stairs no platform)

Of course, you have to make a good plan for water drainage here. Maybe also turn the doors to the living room the other way around.

First of all, thank you very much for the drafts and your willingness to help.

I find the layout much more open and relaxed.
The upper floors are also great.

However, I am not sure if a 3-meter L-shaped sofa would still fit visually. Do we really gain much space compared to the developer's solution? If I calculated correctly, about +3 square meters. But the storage space in the technical room for, for example, drink crates is missing. What do you think?

You have to set the priorities yourself. I specifically added the depth + 40cm for you. Furniture is realistic with a kitchen island of 80cm / 2m. The 3m sofa fits, but there is no beverage room here, you're right about that. Instead, there is a 3m closet in the hallway with up to 70cm depth. You could also stack beverage crates and a vacuum cleaner in there. I find all the rooms upstairs much smoother – especially the kids' rooms with 2 windows each are a gain. Ultimately, it’s a matter of balancing where you see more advantages for yourselves. Best to recreate one or two rooms and place the desired furniture inside. I also always go through it in 3D, that makes a big difference. This sense of space is certainly freer than if there were still a wall in the room: Overall, it remains a house on a mini footprint. Whether all wishes can be fulfilled there is questionable. I keep thinking about whether I can still rotate the staircase. Then you’d have the space underneath as a small storage area and the dormer might probably become unnecessary. Maybe I still have to play around with the entrance around the corner. But for now, I’m out of steam.

Now I had to experiment a bit more:

Other floors are almost the same. However, the staircase is rotated - which also eliminates the lean-to roof.
