It is not the children's rooms that suffer from the stair exit, but the whole house suffers from the straight single-flight staircase. I would not necessarily want to place the children's rooms in the south either: full shading due to blazing sun precisely during homework time is hardly a gain in living quality for the little ones. A windbreak with a dirt-trapping area would probably bring more than this senseless side entrance, whose door is already obstructed in the plan and which is overall as tight as a glove compartment. The poor dressing room will be quite cluttered, as there is otherwise a lack of storage space. Overall, the design is a prime example of how “great” one can plan tightness or at least a feeling of tightness everywhere. For example, in the program of Town & Country, there are several examples of how houses in such an economy format can be planned to function better. I also see no need in the plot or building envelope to choose such a square-close floor plan. By the way, the site plan could be less tightly cropped. From the walls 45 cm thick and the window reveals, I conclude a wall construction with brick cladding (which could be omitted according to budget). Am I correct in assuming that it is supposed to be an Eco System “Variohaus” (which model?) like with in ?
