I would also avoid such a large bungalow and combine the option of "age-appropriate living on the ground floor" with a "children's play area on the upper floor," planning the whole thing so that the ground floor and upper floor can be separated to create an independent apartment upstairs. Or do you still need that many rooms in 20+ years?

So my suggestion would be:
Ground floor: First an open accessible stairway with access to the utility room, behind that hallway, living room, kitchen, parents' bedroom, study, bathroom (completely barrier-free planned)
Upper floor: 3 children's rooms (later modifiable into bedroom, living room, kitchen), bathroom

I must unfortunately also advise against a bungalow.
There are too many errors in your planning, and a mere optimization will not lead to satisfactory results.
If you want to build a bungalow, then a more "loving" planning (Who actually dares to deliver such a tightly planned bathroom?) is necessary.

Hello,

thank you for your critiques. After some time, we have reviewed our planning again.

What are your opinions on the revised floor plan?

- The rooms on the left and right of the hallway are now the same length - 4.35 m
- The corner rooms as children's rooms have never really appealed to us (the rooms are now 2x3 m wide and one is 2.83 m)
- We know that the hallway at the back becomes quite dark; a light well is planned there
- The bathroom has now become larger; a shower is currently sufficient in our rental house as well (but thanks for the hint)
- Our little mouse will be almost two by the planned completion date, so we will only rarely need the stroller

We also had the idea of a 1.5 or 2-story house, but if all the "necessary" rooms for "age-appropriate living on the ground floor" are planned, we end up with over 100 m² just for the ground floor, and if the upper floor comes on top of that, the house becomes so large that all financial plans would be blown.

: What other mistakes have you noticed? We want to be able to call a lovingly planned home our own.

Who says that an upper floor has the same area as a ground floor? We have 85 sqm on the ground floor and 40 sqm and a great roof terrace on the upper floor.

If you take a 150m2 bungalow and put a roof on it, you are likely to be more expensive than if you build only a 100m2 house, use a roof WITHOUT [Kniestock] there, and then create knee walls and room walls inside the upper floor using drywall construction. Have it calculated for yourself. It is a misconception that a bungalow is cheaper than a "normal" single-family house: smaller foundation slab, less earthworks, fewer exterior walls (if you build the roof without [Kniestock]), smaller, simpler roof surface, and significant space gain in return.
