As an alternative to the hinged doors, sliding doors might also be suitable. Then there is never a door leaf in the way - whether inside or outside. And if a gust of wind comes, nothing moves.
About size/hall/gallery: it is mostly dictated by the budget for what is being done.
Otherwise read between these lines:
It is an art or also something learned to design the perfect harmony between the orientation of the house and sufficient light incidence in the living spaces.
P.s. Have you already liked something about the knee wall height? Where is the site plan?
I not only find the orientation of the rooms problematic, I also find the living/dining area too narrow. The load-bearing wall runs roughly in the middle of the house. I think the study on the ground floor has been given too much space; it could easily be made narrower (e.g. width of 3m), then the living area would already have 4.5m.
You don't have to have a table in the kitchen, do you? Make the kitchen smaller, for all I care with a pass-through, and then put a nice big (extendable) table in the living room...
