Hi
Thanks for asking. We pulled the emergency brake shortly before signing the contract because the war broke out and interest rates rose too quickly. Since the development of the building area is currently at a standstill and the land buyers are returning their plots by the dozen, it is certainly not the worst decision, even though it understandably hurt a lot.
The current idea is to wait a bit until the order situation for architects no longer looks so glamorous, then to plan the project anew with an architect (renovating our BJ1930 house / converting the attic) and hopefully link the implementation to the increase in renovation subsidies.
By doing this, we give up some comfort compared to a new build, but at the same time we have significantly more space and a nicer, mature, secluded plot with great neighbors.
Your idea with the glass ridge is noted and ranks high on our wish list for the attic conversion.
What we can and want to afford in the end will probably have to be clarified realistically during the course of the project, considering prices, interest rates, and subsidies...
Best regards
