How does it look in the east, or what is there?

Not that you misunderstand me. I am not saying that there has to be a shower there. I merely want to suggest thinking about it and, in particular, checking it against your own habits and needs. I must say that I probably also overlooked the fact that you are building a basement; a shower would then make sense there, especially for later in-house moves of the children.

Here, too, I probably did not have the basement in mind, sorry. We just built a bathroom with 9.5 sqm and it is by no means too small for us. Currently, your bathroom could still be redesigned anyway, and if 1-2 sqm were added to the bedroom, it would certainly not be a disadvantage; that’s what I meant. The nearly 16 sqm per children's room are, in my opinion, well sized; I find 14 sqm sufficient, less than that not. Ultimately, the individual perspective applies here as well; often one worries that something might be too small and therefore makes it bigger just to be safe, without actual added value. We just moved in, and I was unsure about some corners where my wife was certain about the measurements and distances. Now that I have it live, she was right... that can happen o_O Of course, the children should have a nice space, but as an adult, one should not forget oneself, as one also has needs, in my opinion. For children, room size usually matters less; that is more ingrained in our heads. Perhaps it would also be an idea to build the partition wall between the two children's rooms shifted in the middle, so that each side has a niche where the wardrobe can disappear; children's wardrobes are usually not that wide. The above-mentioned idea with the open area on the upper floor I think is great. Children will love it, you can put up a loft bed or create a sleeping level with manageable costs. Who didn’t like to be in a hideout or cave as a child, and something like that would be really special, besides being a huge gain in living space. I don’t like the attic as storage space anyway; the basement is better suited for that.

Basically, we signed up here to get different perspectives, so always bring them on and thanks for the ideas ;)

We do not want to get too close to the barn because the animals naturally produce noises and smells.

With Hauser Massivbau, I expect that you will be satisfied; they make a good impression on me. One and a half thousand construction projects without legal disputes is a cool slogan on the website; unfortunately, I found nothing about the exact wall and ceiling structure. Nevertheless, I am not looking at their website for the first time; they seem to me a good general contractor with apparently a technically enthusiastic senior boss.

You should accept the proposal of positioning the house oriented towards the eastern border. A cow mooing three meters further away will not be noticeably quieter, and for the cow fart, the wind direction is more decisive than the distance. Countryside remains countryside and after all has its advantages. By the way, where will the (in-law) parents park in the future if they mow down their garage for your driveway?
