I would design the seat window so that in summer I would sit exactly between inside and outside. So, think about the opening mechanism. Maybe something like a sliding mechanism upwards as in England… A stove requires much more space than its footprint. In a small house, it easily takes up 20-30% of the living area. If that is the priority: fine.

I often drive past a modern villa near Starnberg, where all the windows visible from the street were designed as sliding windows. A super beautiful house. I then obtained a few quotes two years ago to design a 1.60 x 1.20 m window to the hallway like this. The quotes ranged between 3500 and 5000 euros.

I would solve it like this. Then you wouldn't have the seating window "hidden" behind the sofa backrest, but you could create a cozy gathering when more people are around. The fireplace flue could be placed above between the two children's room doors. This way, you have a view of the fireplace, TV, and garden from the sofa. The kitchen wall is shortened, the living room wall straightened. The last 1.5 steps of the staircase are anyway within the ceiling and can therefore be built over. The wardrobe goes under the stairs?

A nice window seat is simply not a cost-optimized piece of furniture. I find the price range completely okay, and in €/seat over the lifespan in years, it is not even particularly expensive.

That was not a window seat, but rather a rather small interior window to illuminate a staircase. It would have been a complete custom-made piece and the mechanism would have had to be ordered separately, with special profiles manufactured for it. I don’t want to imagine the price for triple glazing in twice the size :p

I also estimate that it will be difficult to accommodate both given the space conditions... The window seat is set, and there are no compromises on that.
