The way from the bedroom to the toilet would also be too far for me.

Best regards

In a house measuring 10x10, saying that the toilet is too far is absolute nonsense to me.

That's all a matter of personal taste. I would definitely (if possible) swap Child 1 and the bathroom to create a parents' area and use the storage room upstairs later as a children's bathroom. It's not nice as a parent to have to walk past both children's rooms to get to the bathroom, especially with older children having visitors in their room.

Best regards
Sabine

Hello everyone,

by now we see the shower on the ground floor similarly, we actually only included it just in case and to avoid having to install a third bathroom, which would also need cleaning, etc. The sofa situation is actually similar now, we mostly sit on the longer side anyway and are currently looking at it. It might change with children, possibly. The staircase is what really appeals to us; we simply don't like the staircase variants often used, even if that would be the most sensible. Incidentally, it also covers part of the kitchen, which we find very nice. The idea comes from Viebrockhaus, which also has it as a 10.60 cm x 10.60 house, so relatively similar. Nevertheless, there should only be 2 steps downstairs; the objection is justified. I will address it. Thanks.

Regarding going around outside, which we could only achieve with a narrower house, we will place a garage with a gate and door and one with gate/gate, so one can still get into the garden via the path with wide objects. Currently, we have a 3-meter TV wall as well as 2 sideboards. One sideboard can go next to the dining table; the second also fits in width on the backside of the stairs. This doesn't bother us now and fits for us. With large wall units in the plan, however, it would definitely be a problem.

Swapping the bathroom with child1 would be a good idea. But we actually wanted to give the rooms on the south side with the 2 windows to the children. The next problem would be the wastewater. I already want to swap the sides downstairs because the pipes in the office bother me. What do I do with that? The bathroom was ultimately the current compromise. We can also make the small room for laundry the size of the dressing room. Then there is enough space for ironing and the second children's room would also have a wider wall.

Thank you all.

Regards
Sascha

A terraced house may basically be narrower, but what usually characterizes a terraced house is the lack of windows and thus the lack of sunlight at different times of the day. Your house will, despite the large panorama window, be quite dark towards the middle on the ground floor.

Honestly, I can’t understand how someone can ruin a property like this by squeezing two garages on the left and right sides of the house, at the expense of light! That doesn’t look very nice either – a framed house with two garages and then no open spaces next to it to balance the appearance.

An architect would have advised you against this house design or the idea of two garages!

Sorry, but I only just saw the picture with the top view – the picture didn’t load on my phone. And I’m really appalled :(
