Is there actually a reason why the garage is located in the west and there is no window on that side at all?

Will do it tonight. I’ll take another look at the staircase. I was actually quite sure about it since I copied parts of the floor plan from someone else.

I’m slowly seeing it too and can do without it. Then I would remove the partition wall, right? How do you assess the argument of additional soundproofing living room/utility room (washing machine, heating, controlled residential ventilation..)?

You mean in width? Unfortunately, the house cannot be any wider and I don’t want to take anything from the hallway or utility room. But an island is not a must-have.

Okay, that confirms my suspicion. Although the room divider is only supposed to be half-height and thus only partially influences the light incidence. Furniture is coming.

Yes. I only have access possibilities from the west or south. Although access from the west would still need to be approved. The road authority and building authority see no problems in principle via an exemption request. Garage in the east on the neighbor’s border would also work, but the long driveway would take up a lot of garden space.

The window issue was more or less by chance and due to the room arrangement. I also don’t find it optimal visually but simply can’t use a window on the house side with the current floor plan. Do you have a suggestion?

ypg is right, your staircase is barely 2.60 meters long. The upper floor can't work at all like this if the staircase is about 1 meter longer. I would check this "problem" first because probably the entire floor plan won't work anymore.

Yes, I fear that too. I'll take another look at it tonight.

Good thing this was noticed immediately!

Uhm, the "west side" is west-southwest, the most important sunny side for the afternoon. Do you really not want to use it? The east-northeast side is ideal for the garage!
