You can have a complete glass front on one side... Light from 2 sides with normal windows is still something better. By the way, that's now the case at our home and can be observed live every day. Living room with large windows up to about 2.60m, 3 very large double-wing windows and still the bedroom with 2 smaller windows is brighter, nicer, simply better. Naturally, light from 4 sides would be best, but one side should be avoided if possible.

But that will be a very long and flat staircase. Probably more comfortable would be 16 risers. Then the rise would be just under 18.5 cm. I would then shorten the tread depth towards 27 cm. There are a few rules for this. Just google it. But the planned staircase would be too flat for me.

Hmm ... and if that is supposed to be a pedestal staircase, then the depth of 280 cm is too small.

I have updated my staircase examples again:

I can only agree with your generalizations to the extent that you have torn rules, theses, and guidelines out of context when informing about the correct house design so that you have a red thread in your plans.

Reference to window sizes and rooms should be made, but incidentally, the use of the rooms, the room layout, as well as the orientations also play a role. Furthermore, certainly the views as well as the house style.

Skillfully combining these elements belongs to designing. Generalizations do not.

I often read this from you. When a craftsman tells you: we've always done it this way! you should be somewhat cautious: it could be that the new rules of the trade are not being observed.

Grym is currently planning it only as a placeholder and somewhat larger so that the later planner can work with the further mentioned dimensions. So it might also be smaller.

In the attachment, I have now chosen the rough execution drawings for our city villa. These homemade plans are just not acceptable.

Weak points for us:
- Utility room is a bit too small, but everything fits (heating, ventilation system, washing machine, dryer) and additionally 4x 60 cm cabinets over the full height on the door side. This makes the room quite neatly filled.
- Because of the sauna, we had to be tricky in the bathroom. The sink has no wall box, so the distance is larger. Children's room 1 has a corner because of the shower, but there is a great sofa cuddle corner.
- The guest room is actually part of the kitchen, which makes the open-plan kitchen living area about 7 sqm smaller than originally planned. But in return, you have a small but nice guest room included.

Advantages:
- Both children's rooms have light from 2 sides.
- Bedroom has a reasonable space for a wardrobe.
- Storage room upstairs.
- Hallway on the ground floor has space for a chest of drawers behind the kitchen door.

No, it makes a big difference, regardless of the room size and window sizes, whether the light comes from one side or from several sides. We have also paid attention to the lighting situation in children's rooms in countless model houses. Light from 2 sides is always better than light from only one side.
