As a back panel, we have now used tiles.
Appearance: wood, driftwood.
Color: gray, blue, beige.
The tiles were glued onto a chipboard, which was previously attached to the wall. This way, the wall behind remains intact or sustains minimal damage in case of a possible move-out (rental apartment).
The side was finished with an aluminum strip, which as a design element picks up the stainless steel component again (handles, oven, etc.). We especially like the contrast to the white kitchen and the light parquet. Nevertheless, the color is not too intrusive and emphasizes our taste for the country house style with modern elements.
The total cost was 200€, which was considerably cheaper than any composite panel.
