Our current living room has a width of about 335cm, similar to the floor plan. It's completely sufficient for sitting on the sofa and watching TV. If you're interested, I can also take a photo. If you plan your workout in front of the TV or if the children are supposed to play there, it is too cramped. What I don't like so much is that you sit with your back to the window. But unfortunately, that's how it works with most floor plans.

Hello Pinky, I would be interested in a photo, since we will be around 3.5 m. It would be cool if you could post something. Thanks.

This is only our temporary apartment, therefore only provisionally furnished.

ok thanks, I think it's not a lot of space but seems sufficient for watching TV and chilling.

That would be enough for me (2-person household) if I can push the table aside.
But that applies to an apartment and would be a reason to finally realize a larger living room in my house, where you don’t have to move anything. (We now have 5 meters, precisely because of yoga, pilates, and Wii...)

May I ask why you are not building bigger? Does the development plan not allow more? With the (quite large) plot, maybe more would be possible? We have about 100 m² floor area on 600 m² of land, and in hindsight, it would have been nicer to have more space in some areas! What I would also miss in your house would be an office/guest room on the ground floor. Of course, that again requires a larger house. Even if you don’t work from home, etc., it is nice to have a room where you keep folders and handle mail or where guests can comfortably stay. Otherwise, I also agree with many others here that the living room width is too small. We have 4.3 m, and it is just enough so that it doesn’t only look like a place for watching TV. There is still enough space between the sofa and the TV to walk around, so the children could play in front of it, etc. In our apartment, we had 3.4 m, and it was already very cramped. I wouldn’t want that again, especially not in a new build. I think there might be ways to gain the 1 m through a layout change?
