Our bathroom is 3.3 m x 2.45 m and even feels quite spacious. Even when we brush the children’s teeth, it’s not really tight... so I don’t think it’s too small. I’m quite glad about the extra row of bricks and the resulting clear height of 2.6 m on the ground floor. Disadvantages – except possibly slight additional costs – it has none.

I don't think usage and personal needs have to be invented.
One person locks the door, another doesn't. But why should you lock it if you only want to use the sink to brush your teeth?
Even if it is regulated within the family that the toilet, for example, is used downstairs in the morning (it's not uncommon that children stand together with a parent in the bathroom, at least in the first years), they get in each other's way in front of the sink (a double sink). I experienced this myself and then preinstalled a sliding door in the bathroom - even though there were only two of us. My parents also had and still have this, with the result that the first sink stays dry - used as a place for brushes and makeup stuff.

In this respect, I find my remark completely justified.

Basically, I don't find the bathroom small, but I find the washbasin area too cramped with the door at the neck/back/hip ;)

Not necessarily. You still have to place the pantry... you could also put it on the inner wall (without looking at the plan again)

Why?

Sure, everyone has different priorities. But if you want a towel radiator AND a tall cabinet, it becomes very difficult.

I don’t know the exact dimensions of the bathroom, but I think the bathroom is about the same size as ours. In the thread by Winterkind, Yvonne sketched a bathroom floor plan that pretty much matched ours. Included for us are a walk-in shower, a standard bathtub, washbasin + cabinet hanging next to it, toilet, and towel radiator. Everything fits and is also quite practical to use with a child. However, for 4 people on the toilet at the same time, there are not enough seats. ;) Jokes aside. It is usable, but of course, it is not as generously spacious as in the glossy brochures with 2 m² of shelf space around the tub rim and a sea view from the tub itself. I sent the pictures to you today via private message.

According to the design, the bathroom is about 2.70 x 3.70. Would it be possible for you to send us the floor plan of your bathroom? Maybe it will help us with further planning.

Because we prefer more sunshine in the living room than in the kitchen and pantry. Also, then the living room would be in the northwest, definitely not our case.

Thank you very much for the pictures! Definitely a good idea. What are the dimensions of your bathroom?

Guest bathroom measuring 2.4 m x 2 m:

Main bathroom measuring 3.28 m x 2.4 m:

Both shower cabins are made of glass – in the main bathroom the shower is not 1.4 m but only 1.2 m, and the bathtub therefore has approximately 10 cm platforms on both sides. The door hinge is reversed. Behind the door are wall shelves; at the end of the "hallway" (top of the plan) there is a wooden towel rack.
