Sitting at the source only makes things easier, but not lighter.

You hadn't said yet where you wanted to build, had you?

It's the same for me and that's why you have to be three times more careful and that's why I'm "bugging" around here :D

Here is a brief note from me regarding the consultation Town & Country:
We talked to a total of 7 companies. Town & Country was initially one of the frontrunners. They were also the first with whom we had a somewhat more detailed discussion. However, they disqualified themselves for me because of their cost estimate for earthworks. Town & Country gave a flat rate, saying we should plan for 2,500 euros for the earthworks (which corresponds to your planned amount). All the other 6 companies quoted costs between 15,000 and 20,000 euros (without knowing anything about the Town & Country figure). At first, I thought the first company was crazy (2,500 vs. 17,000 euros). When the next 3 companies came back with similar amounts, I inquired further. The expensive part of the earthworks is the transport and landfill fees.

When I addressed this discrepancy with the representative from Town & Country, his simple answer was: "We always do it that way."
And with that, Town & Country was out for me, because they are knowingly taking the risk that the builder might have to finance additional costs later.

Regardless, a reliable statement about the costs for the earthworks can only be made once the exact plot is known and the soil survey has been conducted. This, by the way, is another issue (regarding Town & Country) with which we gained experience.

Hi - thanks for the tip. In order to keep everything comparable, I will limit the offers from the top edge of the basement ceiling/slab. Town & Country does include this, but I will try to have them deduct it to make the offer more comparable. The father of a friend has a construction company (I can’t really say exactly what he does - some kind of mixed thing. A bit of civil engineering, a bit of garden landscaping, a bit of demolition) and he will definitely be able to tell me something about it or refer me to a company that will come to the table with solid figures

Hello,

A solid construction builder will always offer including the floor slab and would never - if this is to be constructed on-site - build on it.

If you set this comparison as a condition, you have to stay within the FH providers.

Rhenish greetings
