Faktum AP with Ikea Metod kitchen

Actually, I had planned a Faktum kitchen, but unfortunately our house construction is delayed and it is quite possible that by the time of the kitchen purchase there might already be the new Metod kitchen at Ikea.
However, I already bought the countertop (Akerby) for the kitchen from the bargain corner; it was a good opportunity at half price.
Now the question for me is whether I could possibly use this Faktum countertop together with Metod base cabinets?
The Faktum countertop is 62cm deep, Faktum base cabinets should be 58cm deep, which gives a difference of 4cm.
The Metod base cabinets should be 60cm deep, Metod countertops have a depth of 63.5cm, which results in a difference of 3.5cm.
If I now use the Faktum countertop with Metod base cabinets, there would only be a difference of 62-60=2cm.
Would that still be acceptable or is this overhang too small?

Since you already have the countertop anyway, you can place it on the cabinets and then decide if you are satisfied with it without any overhang. However, you can also screw a wooden strip to the back of the countertop and then cover it with the wall trim. If you are not satisfied with that, you can simply buy a deeper countertop. Whether the transition in Slovenia will take place at the same time as in Austria is still a question. With Metod, you will probably have to do a little replanning since there won't be any 30 cm and 50 cm wide cabinets.

In my opinion, this is a real misstep by the developers of Metod. The grid division in height is better than with Faktum, and the fact that there is now a 20 cm wide cabinet is an advantage; previously, the smallest cabinet was 30 cm. But to forgo making the grid more flexible in width and instead offer planning only in 20 cm increments is absolutely incomprehensible to me. Faktum, at least with 30 and 50 cm cabinets, was only plannable in a 10 cm grid and thus had a disadvantage compared to kitchen studios, where 15 and 45 cm cabinets allow a 5 cm grid. I am curious about the sales figures of Metod in Germany.

Don't hold me to it now, I saw Metod live in Norway but only as a tourist without kitchen planning ambitions.

In my opinion and according to my memory, the carcass dimensions are the same, the additional 1.5 cm come from the hanging rails, so there are three options.

1. new countertop
2. carcass directly against the wall still works, tricky since the base cabinets only have legs at the front now
3. shorten the hanging rail each time so that it always lies between the side walls of the carcass per cabinet, fiddly work, but I would probably do it that way if I needed a kitchen.

Yeah, the 20 cm horizontal grid is annoying, maybe it will be improved because I don't want a 19.8 cm filler piece.

So, I have the information that the Metod carcasses are now 60cm deep instead of 58cm. I didn't know that they have a hanging rail at the back instead of legs. Whether shortening the rail could work mainly depends on how much space there is between the back wall of the base cabinet and the room wall. However, the idea is very good!!! Do you still roughly remember how large the distance of the back wall was?
