Hello,

what experience do you have with island hoods, which also function as a "design object"?
The possibility of downdraft ventilation and ceiling installation with exhaust unfortunately does not apply. Therefore, I am currently leaning towards a hanging "cube hood."

I have looked at the manufacturers' websites, but I would like to know your experience with them, also regarding the quality of cheaper manufacturers.

Briefly about the kitchen itself:
Open kitchen, total room size: 50 sqm, kitchen area itself 11 sqm. 80 cm cooktop with 2.70 m ceiling height.
I would therefore assume a volume of about 45 cubic meters, i.e., a performance of max 540 cubic meters per hour.

About my requirements:

[*]Performance should be sufficient for room volume / cooking area
[*]Should have one light - does not have to be LED or anything
[*]Odor neutralization is not the top priority, since we have a huge kitchen window and plenty of terrace doors.
[*]Not too loud - unfortunately, I cannot specify in dB

Which ones can you recommend?

Due to the data sheets, I don't think anything of the chandelier variant. Much too loud with too little power - which is also reflected in the low price. The situation looks better with the Oranier. However, its maximum power would still be too low for me in an open kitchen (and also still too loud - 63db at max normal level is already high. I have a Siemens myself with 55db, which is not really quiet either.)

There are also ceiling hoods with recirculation. For example LF26RH560

nothing hangs in the way, it also provides lighting, and it has power too.

If the cooktop is on an island, then downdraft ventilation... These ceiling hoods, even the design ones from Berbel... are simply ugly and ruin the look of a beautiful kitchen.

Alternatively, the cooktop not on the island :)

Affordable and quiet/powerful with a fan is simply a contradiction. You have to set priorities... Just like with the question of [Muldenlüfter] or not. Something like that would never come into my (semi-) island. We have the [Novy Cloud] ourselves and are satisfied.

We have an angled extractor hood from Klarstein with 900 watts. Unfortunately, I have to say that the power is not sufficient. I don't know if it is due to the design or the power, but next time I would do it differently.
