Hello everyone,

after you already helped me so well with my kitchen, I'm now asking you about mattresses.

I need a new one. I don't know much about what's out there, and I know I have to try everything out myself.

More importantly, I want to know from you who uses an Ikea mattress and how satisfied you are with it?
I'm considering the MATRAND series (latex or memory foam) and MORGEDAL (latex). Is the durability okay? How do you like them?
I also think that if the recommendations vary a lot, having a cross-section of opinions is a good thing.

We bought the MYRBACKA latex mattress, medium firm, white.......... well, I hope it’s actually any good. It will be delivered in August with the new kitchen........ The only other important thing to mention is......... also replace the slatted frame.

You have to be careful with the slatted frame. The ones from IKEA are wider than others and may not fit into a non-IKEA bed. The advantage of mattresses from IKEA is that you can return them after trying them out for 3 months. There used to be a 25-year warranty on the mattresses. However, that was discontinued (at least in Germany). Maybe there were many complaints much earlier? That is just speculation.

Hi guys,

I have a self-built loft bed, so the slatted frame stuff isn't that exciting, I just need a mattress.

The trial lying thing is interesting. What are the (Attention, pun) conditions there? Have you tried it, or what are your experiences if so?

Tomorrow we want to try to get to Ikea, try lying down and find a direction.

It used to be clearly limited to a 3-month trial lying period. Since the unlimited return policy, you can theoretically try lying down indefinitely. In practice, it won’t be so easy if a long time has passed. I once returned a mattress after 8 months. It was hardly used, and I had put it back in the plastic cover. The return was without any problems. When returning, you usually only get a credit card. I have a Family payment card. So far, it has always been possible to have the amount credited back onto it.

There is no "unlimited return policy." Still not. So one should not be surprised if, when exchanging an item, the exchange is refused. I can quickly name 5-6 stores where you will 100% be sent away again with a worn-out mattress!
