We have a Tecalor thz504 in the basement. Would the more powerful heat pump for underfloor heating that modulates (inverter device) be suitable.

So my parents have a model from Vaillant also with a maintenance contract - they are very satisfied as well. And again about geothermal drilling, sorry, I was mistaken and my mind was already on the collectors, no it certainly also needs a bit of space but at most the shaft as someone has already described anyway.

Now I'm confused, where is the difference? I was talking about an air heat pump, and you? Okay, so that means I can either put a quieter one outside or a louder one inside? Which manufacturer is that, or does that apply to all? I would have to look into that, since we will have a garden AND a basement anyway, which option would be more suitable. Personally, I don't find the noise so bad, I was just a bit worried that the neighbors might complain...

So they're not that loud either... my parents have had an air heat pump for several years now (from the early days of heat pumps) and live in a terraced mid-terrace house... the neighbors have never complained even though the pump is right against a wall of the neighbor's house. You can hear it inside when it runs, but I've never found it disturbing.

The difference is as follows: A [Luft-Luftwärmepumpe] extracts heat from the air (outside air or exhaust air) and releases it into the interior rooms via ventilation. Underfloor heating or radiators are not required.

A [Luft-Wasser-Wärmepumpe] transfers the heat from the air to a heating circuit with underfloor heating or radiators.

The latter are usually installed in a split version, i.e., the heat pump is located in the outdoor unit with more or less disturbing noise emissions. However, these units are also available for indoor installation, i.e., the air is drawn from outside to the heat pump located inside the building. It is noisier inside, quieter outside. The outdoor unit is omitted, but the air ducts must be placed in a suitable location.

Fuchur has described it very well and you just have to decide individually or adjust it, if you are either building new, then it is no problem because you can integrate it into the planning, or with existing heating systems I would simply inquire how I can convert it. But I can also advise you again, if you want to find out more, then take a look at a showroom like Vaillant, there you can see all the devices and also hear how loud they are, or you can visit a building fair, you will surely find something and be able to inquire there, you just have to see if there will be one nearby soon.
