As long as the entire plan is not finally posted

one probably does not need to make any suggestions.
The fact is probably that a conversion of the existing attic, possibly one or two dormers or an extension on the ground floor makes more sense than a "floating" extension in the attic - without knowing the ground floor.

Again for Yvonne from #5 (probably having phone problems again) ;): I would also first ask what is still possible with the attic conversion. Can it be more pointed, higher, bigger, or with dormers?

Yes, then... ;) Thanks Katja :-* (I only flipped backwards up to page 3 :( )

I see and saw in my crystal ball an extension on the ground floor for the parents, which later the grown son can take over. In the east.
That was the crystal ball that didn't know the property with the meadow.
:(

Yes, the whole construction site is more than stupid... somehow they slept during the land division... that's why nobody wanted the centrally located plot for years... until we came.

Yes, rerouting pipes is complex and expensive; the details would need to be discussed with the utility providers and installers. However, in my opinion, your plan is significantly more complex and costly. In NRW, a construction burden registration requires a specific project with an official site plan, which is an essential part of the burden. Construction burden areas that are not needed are usually not registered. Your (and also my) extension triggers setback areas, unlike the carport and the garage, which partly lie on the neighboring property (presumably 55 cm). If these are already secured, you are lucky, but in NRW, that would not be possible.
