What surprises me is that the roof is already on, and now you notice that something different was built in the basement. Are you so far away from the construction site that you can't check it daily or at least regularly?
In that case, an independent construction supervisor would have been important to me from the start. But the horse has already left the barn.

External construction supervisors are not important, they are mandatory on every construction site where the client is not a professional.

Excuse my spelling! I only actually noticed it when it said timber frame construction ‍♂ … but the planning office admitted the mistake of having changed the plans without consultation.

Unfortunately, there is now the much bigger problem with the shed roof connection. According to the expert, it is defective and urgently needs to be secured! The roof has been on for several weeks already and my site manager approved it as fine! Even the carpenter said at the first contact that it was structurally okay.
I’m attaching the pictures. The gaps between the rafters and the beam are at least 2cm in every case. And for two out of five, which I could check without problems, the nails were hammered in as shown in the pictures. What do you say?
