That's exactly what I mean. That's what people keep trying to convince others of here in the forum...

Well then they should also charge human prices. But they don't. They charge inhuman prices. And whoever pays those prices is allowed to expect inhuman things.
And that's exactly not the case. You are supposed to pay an inhuman amount but expect absolutely earthly things. Namely mistakes and the great way of dealing with them.
As if I would laugh...

But the phrase "Service desert Germany" doesn't come from nowhere.

If I have 200 sqm grouted for 50 euros via MyHammer, then I don't expect anything and don't need to complain about the result. Nobody does, because no one expected anything.

If I pay 500k for a house and they don't install the pipes for the underfloor heating in the niche but in front of it, install 195 doors instead of 210, make the kitchen window too high, or whatever, then I cannot accept that. And if someone is stupid enough to botch something like that, what else could possibly be wrong?!

Sayings like: "If you buy cheap, you buy twice" etc... are obviously a relic of the past.

And as for nerves of steel... please don't forget the deep wallet either. That has to be there as well, along with the nerves of steel. Otherwise, it's very quickly finito de la musica.

Mistakes happen, yes. I find the way corrections are handled more important. For example, with us, a window sill was too low and an interior passage was supposed to be floor to ceiling but wasn’t. When I pointed it out, the response was: OOPS, that’s right, I must have looked at the plan wrong. And then it was corrected immediately.

In my opinion, errors are allowed to happen during construction; there are quite different professions where that should not happen but still does a lot. I’m just saying: swabs left in the belly, wrong infusion given, or wrong knee operated on...

However, I agree with you that I would never accept the errors from the original post (in the sense of: it’s fine, I’ll just get used to it).

Then you were lucky ... with us it was not your: UPS I looked at the plan wrong but rather:

That's always like that
It can't be done any other way

Etc pp ...

And I just don't want to hear that anymore ...

Just bought expensive towels for the new bathroom ... something for eternity ....
After one wash at 60% threads pulled ... they tell me I wash them wrong ... uh what could you do wrong there?
Now they are sending them in and I have to wait 4
weeks .... without towels ...

Unfortunately it's probably a problem of "made in Germany" and not just in construction

: Somehow you seem to have bad luck quite often. : It's a shame that you apparently experience a lot of frustration with craft services.

The problem is not that mistakes are made, but rather the poor handling of mistakes.

The idea that there must be no mistakes is theory.
The difference between theory and practice: Theoretically, there is none.

Exactly like that. They claim it’s according to DIN, you can believe that, but you don’t have to. I learned: better not. In Japan they call it genchi genbutsu, go and see for yourself, and acquire the necessary expertise yourself.

It is already a problem of our society. Just as the car companies cheat, now the craftsmen do the same. In the past, craftsmen could not have allowed themselves such things. They would have gone bankrupt very quickly.

Nowadays, with different market conditions, they don't care about anything, the main thing is to make a lot of money quickly. This does not apply to everyone, but unfortunately, one hears as many bad things as never before.

A few acquaintances have just built or are still in the middle of it. They are really exhausted mentally, what is going on there is sad and the company management lacks every proud manager.
