There are not that few either... in our rental apartment there are 3 power outlets in the children's room and 4 in the living room - and we are still alive
Okay, in our own house we have now planned significantly more - also 9 in the children's rooms etc. pp.

Did I overlook it, or do you not have any light switches?

Why shouldn't they have light switches? Regarding sockets, everyone can do as they please, but I find it neither nice to have such 3-, 4- or even longer "blocks" everywhere nor to have a socket every 1-2 meters scattered around, and you can't get by without a multiple socket extension cord anyway or you rearrange things. It's hard to prepare for all eventualities. As mentioned, it's not a matter of price, a socket costs 3-4 €, but for me simply a question of aesthetics...

In my childhood bedroom, I had everything on one socket (waterbed, TV, DVD, PC, monitor, printer...), that worked too.

What I would recommend to everyone, if for cost reasons they don't install electric shutters or not everywhere, is at least to provide the cable for them or alternatively to place a socket at every window so that it can be easily retrofitted later.

Appearance is a poor argument against sockets. Two in every corner, two higher up, one at the window, one at the main light switch, and that already makes 10. All are practical, visually unobtrusive, and give you flexibility. If you run 5 extension cords through the room and distribute multiple socket strips, that’s definitely not nicer.
Just one socket like in the past... That was pure luck that the fuse didn't blow all the time or that there wasn’t a fire. Also, a huge tangle of cables. And some devices I had are not even counted (e.g. alarm clock). Nowadays, there is more electric toy stuff and more devices that need charging. If I’m already building for so much money, I want some comfort. What if the PC is on a different side than the TV, or if the bed gets moved somewhere else? I find having far fewer sockets impractical. With good planning, you only need one multi-plug for the PC, which is sensible anyway so you can switch everything off together.

I didn't say that one outlet is enough And that it was a misery is undisputed. However, for example, in the children's room you have to work with multiple extension cords at the desk anyway, so I only have 2 there. If you wanted a separate outlet for everything, you would probably have to provide 6-8. In hindsight, you'll always think at some point, no matter how many you installed, oh it would be nice to have one more here or this one wouldn't have been necessary... I also know people who need 4-5 on each side of the bed for the bed, light, radio alarm clock, [HANDYLADEGERÄT] & laptop!!!

It's not just about the simple quantity when it comes to sockets but more about placement and safety... 2-3 sockets per room are simply too few, if everything is plugged into them then the load limit is quickly reached...

And in my opinion, the appearance suffers much more when cables are lying around everywhere in the way instead of just having a double socket combination on the wall in every corner...
