Hello everyone,

I am now planning the electrical installations in the kitchen.

There are the so-called installation zones for rooms with work surfaces, e.g. kitchen.

1. The height for the lower sockets is 30 cm above the finished floor.

2. For light switches as well as sockets above the work surface, it is 115 cm above the finished floor.

My question now is, at what height are the sockets for the extractor hood, oven (if it is located above and no longer like before below) and sockets for lighting of the upper cabinets set in the kitchen if I want to have light underneath? These are much higher than 115 cm, right?

The sockets for the refrigerator are also set at 30 cm, right?

One more question, for lighting in the wall in the living room, what height is chosen there?

Thank you very much

Best regards

Gerd

That depends on how high, for example, the oven is installed and at what height the cabinets, extractor hood (with or without chimney cover) are and how tall they are. With us, the installation plan with the position of the sockets, etc. was made by the kitchen planner.

I am still in the shell construction and want to set the sockets correspondingly higher. There are installation zones for this, aren't there?

The electrician will put the outlets wherever you want, installation zone or not. Tell him where you need one, and you’ll get it. In the kitchen, it actually depends on where the appliances need power.

Determine the height of your kitchen, i.e. lower/upper cabinets, and accordingly install the outlets.

You won’t get around kitchen planning. ;-)

Even just the plinth height, the kitchen model (manufacturer, cabinet grid), and the question of whether the wall cabinets have one or two shelves, so whether they are rather lower or higher, all have an effect.

I gathered it all through various visits to furniture stores, since you don’t get the electrical plan without a purchase contract. Everything fit so far, only one socket is in the wrong place – but that’s because we ended up taking the lower wall cabinets.
