I think the staircase will not be possible at that spot. As already mentioned, you cannot enter the L because so far it is only an I. You would need more width for an L. However, the hallway is also too narrow. Even just to walk through, but especially a wardrobe is no longer possible. Most semi-detached houses have a U-shaped staircase (half-turned) in the center of the house. Alternatively, a straight staircase at the end of the hallway, that is after the hallway and kitchen, so that there is enough width for these rooms. Do you know what I mean?

I am wondering about the situation where living and eating need to be separate, that confuses me a bit. I also know from many semi-detached houses that the parents' bedroom is in the attic, with the children's rooms and a large bathroom on the upper floor, simply because otherwise you can't do much or the rooms would be very small.

First of all, congratulations on such a generous building window: we are thus in the size range of a townhouse and should plan accordingly. In this area, one has to live with compromises: generosity versus privacy. A staircase that is _central_ so that you can accommodate 3 bedrooms plus a bathroom on the upper floor should be put in first. You want dining and living areas separate and the living room separated from the staircase? Why not then close off the living room and combine the dining area with the staircase? That way, the cozy zone in the evening is in the parents' hands, children’s friends can still talk in a controlled way at the dining table, proximity to the fridge for grabbing juice ;) Staircase with two turns, handy windbreak, linear kitchen without play area in the kitchen, possibly closable. I will take my drawing pen :) Do you already have a semi-detached house partner? Are you building with a developer? Are they open to floor plan changes or don’t you know? Or building with an architect? What are the dimensions of the plot? Did I overlook them next to the building window? Best regards in brief

Well, living room to the north, where the room can't be wider than about 300 to 320 cm anyway, and the kitchen/dining room at the bottom of the plan to the south with terrace access, so that grilling can also be well managed.

However, I (have drawn for myself once) would not be happy with Kerstin's suggestion either. However, it would probably be feasible if you really want to use the square meters for the hallway. You want everything separated! Ok! I am anyway of the opinion that entrance halls are excellent for families and terraced/semi-detached houses. With stairs with a living area/table, kitchen on one side, living room on the other side. Since the two children's rooms are supposed to be in the south on the upper floor, one wall of the room should be at least 5 meters, the room at the front of the house 3 meters, so that either a parents' wardrobe or/and bathtub and shower fit side by side there - the space for the stairs remains in the middle. Furthermore, you have to think strategically up to the attic: here the roof will reduce your height, so you have to have the staircase exit at the ridge. The location of the stairs will therefore guide your entire planning - in this respect, you have to live with compromises. For example, if you start with the attic, you can understand it better. Or how high may it be? What does WH 6.5 mean here? Best regards in brief

Wall height 6.5, SD. 30-35... you have a lot of leeway there! :)

Best regards in brief
