We built 17. No one complained. Why would they?
I have probably read too many forums by now, thought there was a VDE guideline on this, but they are just recommendations regarding installation zones. We can consider actually doing it that way, although we will have a KNX installation and therefore no “switch” per se - I need to think about where it makes sense and what it could look like.
90 cm doors are too narrow. Make them 100 cm…
That makes sense, I will try to implement that.
...and the bathroom again.
Here I am at a loss again, I have no idea how to sensibly redesign the bathroom. ypg’s suggestion to switch the shower and toilet would only improve the passage widths to a limited extent. The only possibility I see now would be to do without the bathtub, but that would be a considerable minus in terms of quality of life, which I would very much dislike. Maybe I just can’t see the forest for the trees.
To my knowledge, even with a model house, an individual architect/structural plan is still created, and the model house generally offers the possibilities to adapt walls, move windows, and build niches, etc.
Which general contractor no longer offers that? Who are you building with?
We are building with Danwood, namely a house from the Family series. With Danwood, you can basically change model houses up to a completely individual design, but not in this Family line, where they have set very tight limits.
Certainly not because of technical feasibility, but to avoid cannibalizing their main series Today – the price/performance ratio for that is quite good, if not unbeatable (at least compared to the other providers we considered).
Since the floor plan largely appealed to us and what I would have changed was not worth the additional cost to me, we agreed to this compromise.
