Economically, the granny flat is not viable. I would plan differently.

Between healthy and wheelchair user, there is a wide range. If one can no longer manage their house, at least one person has a handicap and needs help and aids. The turning radius of a walker is almost identical to that of a wheelchair. Wider doors, completely new bathroom, sockets placed high next to the light switches. Take a look at [Nullbarriere]. There you can find the dimensions. Just don't get lost in details. It's only about the fact that a grab bar can be installed in the WC, not which one. Dimensions are necessary, the rest will come if needed.

Ah, ok, just KG:

Barrier-free, age-appropriate: swap toilet and shower.
Let parents move into a basement apartment or move into something like that yourself: no.

Thanks, that would probably actually make sense, but unfortunately it’s only allowed there - Typhaus requirement. :(

I hope we can slightly ease the lighting situation in the basement entrance area / stairwell by adding a side glazing to the entrance door.

The production planning is done by the house manufacturer, except for reinforcement & execution details of the concrete structure, which is handled by the structural engineer/basement builder. I hope to find and fix such errors now if possible – I hoped the architect would cooperate, but… well.

In front of or behind the south wall of the technical room.

Okay, I also have to mention the repayment subsidy for 2 residential units, although this, of course, only makes up a small part of the costs.

Thanks, we have already tried to consider quite a bit, e.g. everything without thresholds, all interior doors 90 cm, corridors >140 cm wide, barrier-free shower 120x120 cm, etc. But admittedly, I am not satisfied with the situation of passage widths for WC/shower. As for the sockets higher up next to the light switches – is this even still allowed according to VDE?

We built 17. Nobody complained. Why would they? In the hallway, next to the toilets and behind the TV are the only ones that are downstairs. 90 cm doors are too narrow. Make them 100 cm and redo the bathroom.

Honestly: I know that promotional houses cannot be changed. For general contractors, the word "promotional" implies something cut down, so at least it means: low budget.

As far as I know, however, for a type house an individual architect/structural plan is still always created, and the type house generally offers the possibility to adjust walls, move windows, and build niches, etc.
Which general contractor no longer offers this? Who are you building with?
