What are we talking about? The fact is: Every tiler seals the wall/floor joint with silicone. If there is vinyl on the floor instead of tiles, there is also a joint. And it must be sealed. With silicone or better. Not with acrylic. Acrylic is unsuitable there. That stuff is the worst anyway. You get what you pay for.

No, Karsten
The plumber seals the entire screed under the tiles or other floor coverings as well as the walls in the wet area (not to be confused with damp area). The tiles are for aesthetics. At least, it should be that way. Silicone seals corners that are created by coverings.

And what is supposed to happen with the joint between wall and floor now? It is already clear that in addition to normal screed on the floor and on the shower walls there is a sealing slurry on it. He is asking what he should do with the joint. I say acrylic is unsuitable there.

A barrier-free shower (V2A drain strip) is planned. The shower area will be tiled (wall and floor). The rest of the bathroom floor will be covered with vinyl. Provided the floor installer does a clean job, I find forgoing the skirting board appealing. However, if the transition between wall and floor is done sloppily, it will definitely look awful. In the worst case, we'll simply use white tiles as a skirting board. At least that way, there won’t be a disturbing contrast.

Dear Hendryk, you see, we are very divided. So ask your floor layer. Karsten
