I think (only) this way it will be a pleasant coexistence with the car, carport, and you residents. You would have a maneuvering and turning option and still a free window in the WZ. Otherwise, the carport would be too dominant.

A small update from our side: We have decided on a general contractor and thus also a floor plan where we felt most comfortable with the overall package. We also rotated the house on the plot again for better use of the garden, proximity of the utility room to the street, and a more pleasant position of the carport. Thanks for the helpful input! The building application has been submitted and now we are waiting for the processing (which can apparently take several months...).

Morning sun for breakfast and for child 2 is nice, but the seemingly endless reversing out I still see as unresolved.

Yes, that's true. You just have to accept the compromise. In our case, the garden is more important to us, especially since we can/would also often park on the street (quiet cul-de-sac).

Don't forget that I am evaluating your "compromise" with forty years of planning experience. Even with the house rotated, I consider Yvonne's suggestion from post #37 better than the current input planning and, if I were you, I would reconsider very favorably pushing the house three meters "backward." There is no need for paving the turning area. If necessary, paddock grills can be installed afterwards if you get stuck in the mud while turning.

A 200sqm garden works just like a 150sqm garden, like a 300sqm garden.

Likewise.
A yard works with 50 as well as 80sqm, but simply not with 20sqm.
