Correct, underfloor heating should be considered a good standard. More economical in consumption, pleasant heat transfer, and space gain due to the omission of radiators. A heating system you do not see.

Regarding the Stiebel Eltron LWZ 430 Sol or other compact heat pumps with integrated compressors, possible noise emissions and structure-borne sound transmissions should be taken into account. The manufacturers provide appropriate information on this. Installation next to, below, and above living and sleeping areas may not be possible in some cases. Installation instructions must be checked in advance. The installation and transport possibilities (dimensions of the transport units) within the building must also be checked with the system installer and the manufacturer before construction starts, based on the floor plans and sections.

Best regards T.H.

Hello Micha,

That will only be possible if your new semi-detached house is sufficiently raised above ground level. Such systems need 3-3.50 m of space between supply and exhaust air; it's difficult if the basement completely disappears underground due to backfilling ;)

Kind regards

Hello construction expert

Yes, that is exactly the point I meant too :)
The installation of the supply and exhaust air ducts in the basement will be a problem.
Also, I would need to check the required room height again - our basement is currently planned with 2.25m without screed - so about 2.13m room height...

But the question of which heating system we really choose will probably occupy me for quite a while *g*

An alternative is an air/water heat pump with an external heat pump compressor and an internal heat exchanger. The indoor unit can be installed like a gas boiler, is very quiet, and does not have susceptibility to structure-borne noise transmission.

Although we ourselves use a THZ 303 Sol (identical to Stiebel Eltron LWZ 303 Sol), I prefer an air/water heat pump with separate outdoor and indoor units and the separate use of a central ventilation system with heat recovery. The ventilation module then does not necessarily have to be installed in the utility room, but can also be installed at an optimal location in the house. Separating ventilation and heat pump technology also offers the possibility to choose an optimal component mix and can certainly be more cost-effective.

Hello Thomas,

We will definitely install ventilation - for various reasons.
And at the moment, I also prefer the solution to separate ventilation and heating.
But - as I said - I will first have a proposal / offer made by a heating engineer I trust - let’s see what he tells me.

Regards
Micha
