Cost of DH or townhouse

I have one more question, maybe regarding the basement.

Here they are calculating expenses of around 40T, which would be too expensive for me considering the intended use.

But what if both of us want one, can we save quite a bit this way or does it not make that much of a difference?

I have to tell you, it's quite annoying to answer the same questions over and over—especially when it's so obvious that a sloth is behind the question! The topic of DH/semi-detached house has been covered here so often that the archive is full of it. Please use the search function and don't rely on well-meaning people to do it for you ;)

The reason for the cheaper costs are the small cost advantages mentioned by Yvonne and the usually much smaller plot.

A semi-detached house is a house with corresponding costs, including the basement. You will only save a little (shared costs) and on the plot ... as already mentioned.

But of course I understand that you don't want to say everything 10 times, but on the contrary I don't want to have the work taken away from me, I want to get the knowledge here so that I need less help later and don't have to ask everything.


Thanks for the assessment, as a layman you just think it can work with a simple milkmaid calculation.

But that is exactly the point to not do that and to plan as realistically as possible.

You are - as I see things - still at the very beginning; so you need a lot of information. Meanwhile, the forum has over 90,000 posts, many of which deal with topics that weigh on the minds of newbies.

Many topics also address questions about prices; I myself have answered many of them and also named prices within the answers, clearing up misunderstandings.

But you have to read on your own ;) However, I admit that tonight was not the best time for me to make comments. There are days like that ....

You save on joint excavation / shared site setup. Not on the basement itself - unless it's done poorly. The basements must be soundproofed, therefore two separate basements with appropriate fire protection directly next to each other. A shared foundation slab would save money, but it's not good (soundproofing + resale value - what do you do if the neighbor wants to tear down their house and you have a shared foundation slab?). 40,000 € for a usable basement is very ambitious - rather expect 50,000 € - or 40,000 € additional costs compared to the foundation slab,...
