That’s why I had a hot water connection installed. For the heirs later, who then want to take a bath.

Well ... hopefully it will be a few decades before our house goes "under the hammer" again. The heirs or subsequent owners can then install a bathtub again :)

I am only writing from my own thinking and the experiences I have had.

That's totally individual, and just because you and your parents don't like bathing, ....
I read several times in the past few days that you find bathtubs outdated, and I had to shake my head every time ;)
That's like saying garages are outdated because I only ride a bike for the sake of the environment.

I never claimed that. My view is that – if I have a choice between a bathtub and a shower – I (we in the household) would prefer the shower. Especially if there is a lack of space. If our bathroom were bigger, we would NOT have removed the bathtub :) Even in a new build it probably would have been within budget. Whether it would then have been used, I don’t know. But with 7 sqm we decided on a large shower. After one year we have not regretted the decision.
My thinking – and that of other people in my circle of acquaintances still – was that the bathtub had become obsolete due to water costs etc. (resources).
Well, after encountering a larger group of people here in the forum, I have learned that this thinking is obviously not correct (thanks to the forum!).

That is nonsense! You can also shower so long that the amount of water corresponds to a filled bathtub – but we don’t do that.

A more correct comparison in my opinion would be the choice between a carport or a garage. If I have the choice, I take the garage. But I don’t take the garage if I thereby have exceptional disadvantages, e.g. blocked view, lack of space ... who knows ... :)

We currently still have a very small bathroom in the rental apartment, with a bathtub but no shower. And I always find it great, I love bathing. In the house, however, we are planning 2 showers and one bathtub, because bathing all the time actually gets annoying eventually.

A double shower would also be our dream in the en suite bathroom :) Unfortunately, that could not be realized in 7 sqm :( Instead, we have a rain shower in the "large" bathroom. That also works for two people. Opinions also differ there. Some people just "quickly" shower with the hand shower, others shower a bit more enjoyably under the rain shower.
