If you earn relatively a lot, you usually have to invest more than others. You need an appropriate wardrobe that needs to be renewed regularly. That alone can easily amount to mid three-figure sums per month. Then you also can't show up with a Golf V, and you don't unpack your lunchbox at lunch. You pay a fortune for childcare (1000€ for two children is easily possible, often even more), and the children might also take music lessons, which are not available for 50€/month. Then children keep growing and need, besides clothes, also a new bicycle, which gladly costs 400€, and the next month the new schoolbooks are due, and the month after that the school trip has to be paid, etc., etc. Spending 7000€ of income per month is quite easy for a family.
