Even if it is a house model from the catalog, we still have to talk about some details, e.g.: where the garbage bin should go, where parking spaces should be.

What about your own contributions? What will you do yourselves or have done on your own initiative? Keyword "savings potential".

Otherwise, I assume that one can say little in general about the currently mentioned figures. To better assess this, more details about the house and the property would probably be necessary. It would also be interesting to know at what investment amount you would have to/want to "pull the ripcord." There are always items in house construction where you can cut costs and save. But some items are not worth it. I'm sure some people have their own stories about that. But with 320,000 EUR, it seems more like a "standard" house to me.

The house is turnkey, according to the construction company; perhaps everyone has a different idea of what turnkey means. We have to do or organize painting and flooring work ourselves. The hallway, guest WC/main bathroom, utility room, kitchen are tiled by the construction company, and we will take care of the flooring work for the living room, office, bedroom, etc.

well, you alone have to decide whether you want to spend this additional amount just like that. I regularly receive the newsletter from a home construction company and price increases are communicated there. Brief overview: 29.04.2022: +10% 03.01.2022: +7% 01.10.2021: +5% 09.06.2021: +3.9% 01.05.2021: +3% 20.10.2020: +3% I would rather not present the graph for these numbers now, but the trend is clear. Are there friends/acquaintances who have built recently? Or is there someone in the family who is a craftsman? For example, you can organize certain trades yourself and thus "relieve" the general contractor - but that can really push the builder's limits. You could ask the construction partner what reimbursement you would receive if you remove certain trades and assign/do them yourself, e.g. civil engineering, tiling. However, with turnkey construction, that probably won't work much, as the general contractor "likes" to argue with regard to his warranty claims.

But not with months-long delays for the building application ...

So, I myself come from China, and the speed of everything here initially really tormented me, meanwhile I have gotten used to it. We have always tried to process and push things on our side as quickly as possible, since it is about our house. But unfortunately, some things are beyond our control.
