I have also partially laid parquet over concrete floors. First, the surface was treated with a primer, then about 2-5 mm of leveling compound was applied on top. For impact sound insulation, I used a 5mm composite foam. Then the click parquet was installed floating on top. I have had it for 10 years without any problems. It still looks great. This parquet's typical creaking included. I like it very much.

Ok thanks. That's probably how we'll proceed as well. The other option just sounds too stressful somehow.. I hope you can use an adhesive over the leveling compound in the same way and also glue it .

If you put a spacer under all steps, then you have a problem with the first step on the ground floor as it has a different height than the others. A staircase is calculated starting from the top edge of the finished floor on the ground floor to the top edge of the finished floor on the upper floor and the rise per step is evenly divided.

Ok thanks. We will probably proceed as suggested, that is:

Priming + leveling compound + parquet.

Whether we can glue in this variant is the question  but probably yes.. The parquet layer of a neighbor measured the residual moisture during priming and used a different primer for the upper/lower attic floor than the one used on the ground floor.

That is the main problem. Let’s assume we’re talking about 4 cm floor buildup above the raw ceiling edge: that is not insignificantly rampable between the staircase exit and the first room that is finished like this. So it would have to be considered for the staircase – but only before the staircase is installed, meaning during planning. Let’s take my example with the additional 4 cm, spread over 16 rises: do you seriously want to double up 2.5 mm on the first step, 5 mm on the second, 7.5 mm on the third, and so on? By the "lower opening" you probably mean missing risers? (then it’s not just botched, but also looks really awful)! Join the readers and understand it yourself too. Read your 11 mm clearance as the MAXIMUM for the height of your special covering request.

Do you have radiators on the upper floor? Or is wall heating installed? Which heating system is installed with what flow temperature?
