The 35,000 euros for the heat pump versus the 15,000 euros for a gas heating system (both including installation) I got from a more recent YouTube video. And in another video, it is explained in detail that installing a heat pump in Germany cannot be done for less than 30,000 euros. I am not an expert, but if that is actually a false assumption, then the case is settled. Can you provide a source for that?

Google tells me that you have to expect about 300 euros per year in maintenance costs for a heat pump. I have no personal experience, neither with gas nor with heat pumps.

Are you calculating the 1,400 euros for the repayment of the CO2 footprint per year? Ok, so my entire comparison is based on the premise that CO2 compensation is not a fraud and actually has an effect – i.e., the entire additional CO2 emissions are compensated right at the start over the lifetime for 800 euros.

I will inform myself about what can actually be made of CO2 compensation, such as atmosfair. The whole comparison stands or falls with that.

.. I have the impression you don't really want to think about the content of your inquiry, but rather want to create some justification here with your strange calculation. And basically disregard the CO2 reduction.

Please read again by and think about the offer you have. Because the error is already in the system.

Oh God ... you can’t be serious. Then read here in the appropriate sections. And do better research before believing any videos.

What is money supposed to achieve? The CO2 has already been produced in the first place.

No, sorry, I really don’t accept that.

I’m asking here!? Anyone can name me a somewhat credible source where I find that a heat pump does not cost 20,000 euros more than a gas heating system in terms of initial investment. Then I’ll check it and the false assumption in my calculation would be found.

I consider every sensible answer and don’t have a "strange" calculation. The calculation is very transparent and can be understood by anyone. It’s not about justification, but about the fact that, from a neutral perspective (a calculation that anyone can understand), the gas heating system in new buildings is not as big a controversy as some make it out to be.

The prices of the "hardware" have already been mentioned by in post 21.

And, what you still don’t understand, paying off CO2 with money does not eliminate CO2. Your example calculates a 1.4 t/year CO2 advantage for the heat pump ... but the assumption is that electricity also comes from fossil energy. The higher the share of renewable energy in electricity, currently we are already averaging over 50% for this year, the better the CO2 balance for the heat pump will be. Photovoltaics should actually be standard in single-family homes today.

For gas, however, it is definitely always 3.5 t CO2/year. So we are definitely talking about 70 t in 20 years.
