I had imagined the driveway to be steeper - there are plenty of other houses with much more inadequate "underground garages."

I could well imagine making a level driveway for 2 parking spaces, possibly with a carport. Build an outdoor staircase from the path on the left to the current garage and install a side entrance door with a window instead of a window with a light well in the new garage wall. The garage would then become a workshop or hobby room with access to the outside but also to the inside. Or is there already a parking space/garage elsewhere?

I think you don't understand. You have your parking space up there. And two cars fit side by side ;) Use the garage as a daylight basement room, install a window there, and the slope takes 2 meters from the depth. The gain is an escape route and a daylight room.

Sorry, I didn’t manage to submit the sketch yesterday, here’s a rough sketch made with Paint showing how it should look in the vertical section in the end. The width at the house wall is about 7 m from the sidewalk. At the front by the street, it’s about 4-5 m between the sidewalk and the edge to the garden. So quite narrow for two cars. We will probably need the space one behind the other. What could be done is a flower bed between the parking area and the sidewalk. But regarding the basement room to be created, I would actually be fine with completely doing without a window there, since I’d like to set up a small home cinema there, and this wall would be perfect as a projection surface. I actually only wanted a window there to slightly reduce the load on the wall. For ventilation or light entry, I could renew the existing window and equip it with a light shaft. So it won’t be a bunker. Attached again is an excerpt from the building file:

I park 4 cars of normal size easily in 10 depth and 5 width at the front :) But okay... unfortunately, I can't contribute anything to your questions.

Hello Leo,

we are currently thinking about buying a house that is similarly structured and had the same thought. Have you already carried out your plan and can report on how successful you were? (Maybe also a photo of the result?) THANK YOU!
