I mainly showcase my house for myself and my family. Less so in the summer, but in winter when it gets dim around 4:00 PM, it is very pleasant. And I want it to be bright all around the house then.

I tolerate that at a historic castle or something like that. With a new building and then standard architecture, rather not. There are many reasons against it. Most have already been mentioned. It makes sense to switch on the lights via motion sensor when entering the property and switch off after a few minutes. But definitely not lighting half the night. Usually it looks shabby because of the plaster. Better floodlights in the garden or to illuminate the house. But only when needed and not permanently.

Sorry, that's nonsense. I install the engine tuning and the great sound system for myself. But when I open the window in summer and turn the volume up loud, I want to be seen. I don’t install underglow lighting "for myself" either, but so that others stop and look... just like the girls who wear miniskirts "for themselves," yeah yeah...

And with roof spotlights there is the risk that you are actually being talked about by the neighbors. Only usually not "Have you seen those great roof spotlights?" But rather "Have you seen that bad plaster he illuminates every night? Does he think the LEDs make it smoother over time?" Or "Can’t he turn off his spotlights once? What does he think is so special about his rectangular box that he has to light it up all night?"

It’s no joke, I’ve already talked with 2 neighbors about the idiots who leave their spotlights on all night. Whoever thinks this will earn envious looks... forget it.

My poppy field behind the house is the hit, I could charge admission. Yet I just don’t have time to dig it up.

From this it can be concluded that you wrap your family warmly in the dark - sorry, in the spotlight of the house - and constantly circle around the house because it is for you and your family.
