The office was planned from the top floor to the basement and we now have to make sure that the slight slope is used optimally. So much for the topic that we wouldn't be open to other opinions ;)
According to the architect, these are the guidelines: building envelope 10x10 for 2 full floors or 10x13 for staggered floors. So only 1 full floor may be built in the 10x13, but in the upper floor a full floor can again be added on 10x10.
We were advised either to extend the basement to 10x13 in order to build 10x13 with a staggered floor or to keep the basement and the building within the 10x10 building envelope.
Since I somehow don't understand the whole thing, and the basement is out of the question with 3 children and a slope anyway, I'll throw out a spontaneous idea: upper floor as children's floor, basement/lower floor as living space as parents' floor, so besides utility room and storage, office and bedroom plus small shower bathroom in the basement, in the upper floor the hobby room integrated with the children's rooms.
As long as the children need care at night, the hobby area can be temporarily used as a bedroom.
