The important thing is not the WU concrete, but that the entire basement is constructed according to WU guidelines. Without the necessary reinforcement, such cracks would form even in WU concrete, allowing water to pass through.

After a look into the basement construction and specifications:

Exterior walls: Total thickness 24cm, smooth formwork concrete slabs, connected with the statically necessary reinforcement. 14cm waterproof concrete including "special system"

Whatever a special system is.... (still) no idea. Much worse, I find that it is missing which material the formwork walls are made of. To me, it currently reads as if I will later have a 14cm thick waterproof concrete wall and water will definitely diffuse through it.

Again: have a basement guaranteed according to [WU guideline], then you don't need to worry about materials and joint sealing systems

There is news!

Regarding the WU basement:

[*]Complete execution according to WU guideline!
[*]The precast walls (formworks) also comply with the WU guideline and are therefore made of WU concrete

[*]A WU concrete thickness of 24 cm is created

Regarding the execution with FBVB:

[*]Foil from the company StekoX is used. Specifically "Polyfleece SX 1000"
[*]Service life: At least the service life of the house!
[*]Perimeter insulation is also easily possible here

A short note about the "myth of vapor diffusion" in WU concrete basements. Even in the construction and performance description of our house builder, a vapor-open basement is mentioned here. Higher quality use is rather not recommended here. But it is for the alternative with fresh concrete composite foil (which is naturally more expensive).
By now, we know how to assess this....

Hello everyone

I'm not entirely sure whether I should continue this (older) thread or have started a new one. Since the topic fits exactly, I'll just join in here. Please forgive me if I should have done it the other way around...

We are building a Schwörerhaus in Switzerland with a FBVK basement, exactly the StekoX system (Polyfleece SX foil) mentioned by . Unfortunately, it is quite new that Schwörerhaus also works with StekoX and no longer with Sika in Switzerland. Therefore, I lack any expertise and comparison possibilities in Switzerland.

My question now is how it looked for you regarding floor penetrations of sewer pipes.
For us, it was done like this: a swelling paste was applied around the pipes on the foil at the bottom, further up, about in the middle, a swelling rubber band was additionally tied around the pipes, see photos.
This is the current state. Now the reinforcement is being done, concrete is supposed to be poured on Friday.

Is this okay? Does it look reasonable? How does/did it look for you? Photos of your construction sites would be great...

Many thanks & best regards from Switzerland
Dave

Hi I don’t know to what extent advertising (related to FB groups) is allowed here, but if a reference to a place where several Schwörerhaus customers could help you is permitted, I would gladly give it to you.

EDIT: The rules regarding these groups seem to be very strict. Let’s just say….. there is a social network and there are groups there. I also know some who have already built with FBVF and probably still have pictures. It can’t hurt in case no pictures accumulate here.
