thank you very much for the many responses. I googled for the base guideline, but I couldn’t really make much sense of the results. Maybe I found something wrong?!
There is no insulation and none planned. We are actually quite satisfied with the current state: no moisture, no mold, relatively low energy consumption, and a good comfortable temperature in the living rooms.
As far as I can see, there is also an existing black coating (presumably bitumen?!) below ground. I’m just guessing now that it goes all the way down.
Basically, I just want the plaster on the base to be somewhat protected against rising water.
That’s why I was thinking of the dimpled membrane. But if that doesn’t make sense without exposing the entire basement, I can probably leave it or am I mistaken? I probably won’t dig down to the foundation.
Or is there a possibility to put one strip of dimpled membrane a few decimeters underground so that the upper edge comes up to the visible base? Or does that make no sense at all and it can be left alone, or worse, could it possibly cause damage?
