I have a question…. our site manager wants to have a railing built with 7cm Ytong stones on our 1.07m wide concrete stairs and then plastered…

We wanted a built-up railing from the beginning, but now the stairwell is relatively large, so a wall running from top to bottom through the 2 floors is no longer possible..

But does something like that hold, has anyone done that before?

Sure... See picture. With children, it's a bit prone to dirt, of course. Overall, we think it's really well done.

You don’t have to fool yourself about the white surfaces if you have children. They would need to be repainted every six months if you want them to stay nice. But a house is sometimes meant for living in as well.

Will it then be built directly on the staircase or next to it?

…because with us the stairwell becomes very narrow and I would actually like the side wall as a kind of railing… meaning not a continuous wall in the middle going upwards.

Does something like that work? See both examples in the attachment

When they are small, you can let them paint it themselves

That looks great!

But how is the Ytong attached to the concrete steps? Is there an anchor or is it just placed on top?

And yes, of course it's more sensitive than a railing....
