Good evening everyone,
I recently purchased a property in Bielefeld, NRW.
On the property there is a (dilapidated) garage with a carport next to it, which is firmly connected to the left garage wall.
Since renovating the garage probably no longer makes sense, I would like to tear it down and rebuild it (mostly as DIY).
The adjacent carport is not used as such.
Therefore, I had the idea to widen the garage a bit (cars used to be smaller...) and build a tool/bike shed on the space of the carport. This would, like the carport now, be firmly connected to the garage wall.
From the carport only a canopy about 1 meter wide on the left long side of the garage would remain.
There are corresponding documents and permits for the existing garage and carport.
The footprint used on the property for this would not change and is about 39m².
The changes themselves affect a footprint of a little less than 30m².
Now my question is whether I need a building permit for this project?
Unfortunately, I have not found a clear answer in my research and thus hope for the collective intelligence.
Many thanks in advance for your answers.
Best regards and have a nice evening, Jan.
