As always, it depends on communication. Do better next time. Reminds me of the gross-net discussion. Craftsmen always quote net prices!

Just remember that you might run into a tough customer who knows he doesn’t have to negotiate because you’ll never see each other again.

Take it as a lesson learned. Continued success on the construction site and always remember this is your hard-earned money.

Even though it is mandatory to state the gross prices to end consumers.

True. Especially since I belong to those, sometimes unsympathetic, contemporaries who would preferably do everything themselves because at least then they know it's done properly. But I trust myself to clean the windows.

I am happy for you. Definitely yes. Your question and the answers of the commentators helped me. I would have made the same mistake as you. Thanks again for your question.

I'm not a lawyer, but I still remember a lecture in public law:

I think an error was already present here, if only because the original poster was not even aware that they had made an order. However, with 6,000 EUR involved, they would have long argued and spent much more money on legal proceedings.

So this way is much better. A great example that talking to each other helps.

Best regards and stay healthy

I also don't see it as easy as many others here. Usually, I go to the architect with my wishes beforehand. He designs and calculates the house and gives a price. After that, based on the costs, the planning is adjusted or the order is placed. Since I never received prices or costs from the electrician, I feel as if the architect built my house directly without a cost breakdown and is now holding out his hand. I know the comparison is flawed, but we couldn't even look that fast before the electrical installation was completely done within 3 days...
