Hello,

It is exactly €1,275.15 for 5 years. Sorry, since I calculate my construction costs, I round up generously.
We have a building expert for the crucial construction phases and otherwise a site manager.

I find the amount reasonable; somehow it gives me a good feeling. I agree with you that a few letters are certainly included in the amount, but if it should still come to a negotiation, that is nothing anymore, moreover, expert fees, overnight and travel expenses, etc. are also covered.

I still hope that I will never need the insurance.

Are you sure that [Gutachterkosten] etc. will be covered? Which ones? Private [Gutachter]? Court-appointed [Gutachter]? Up to what amount?

According to detailed information: "Experts, as far as they are called in by the court"

I would also be a bit cautious if a business is registered and a home office is used for it. "No coverage for commercially used properties."

Are the costs for experts covered without any limit? That would really surprise me.

That is quite a hot issue for an insurance company.

Isn't that your employer who exclusively sells the insurance? Then you should have the exact details.

The website of Örag doesn't provide any information about that.

Not at all my area of expertise and when I was in construction financing, this did not exist yet. It is relatively new in the portfolio.

But I'm not just asking out of boredom. And I can't badmouth my employer out of a certain loyalty to the job.

But I can point out the critical issues to people, and then everyone has to decide for themselves whether price and performance match.

What I do know, however, is that the claim amounts are not necessarily low and accordingly the disputed amounts are relatively high, and therefore the attorney and expert costs are correspondingly high. Added to that is the fact that shoddy construction is not exactly one of the exotic cases in court.

For me, this leads to only two business conclusions:
1) Financial harakiri for the insurance
2) Limited scope

And I exclude 1).
