Correct, the legal expenses insurance is only offered in combination with financing from the Sparkasse.

We have taken out a builder's legal protection insurance with ARAG (seem to be the same contractual conditions) without having financing with Sparkasse. We also have the same limitations as mentioned, but did not have to specify a construction sum.

I have a question in this context, as I still have very little knowledge in this area:

A builders' legal protection insurance is separate from an independent expert, right? In other words, it would be advisable to have both as a builder, correct?

And if the expert identifies a defect and I cannot reach an agreement with the construction company, the builders' legal protection insurance would come into play, is that correct?

And the expert is "only" there to inform me about possible defects, but not to resolve them with the builder?
