That can be seen both ways.

On weekends, when I have plenty of time, I mostly use the Weber charcoal kettle grill (we also got it as a gift from the house-building company when we moved in ).

However, if I want to quickly throw a steak on the grill in the evening, I definitely prefer my gas grill because I reach the desired temperature much faster.

If I absolutely want some "smoke aroma," I put the smoker box on the grill. After grilling, the box is burned out and clean, so I don’t have to deal with hot ashes...

If I manage to get one this year, a smoker is planned so the other two grills in the garden don’t feel so lonely.

Let’s see what my wife thinks about that...

Cheers,

Dirk

We are similar to Dirk in that way.

We like to use a grill often. A kettle grill was added last summer. However, not from the big W but one from the R from the Allgäu.

As experienced campers, we also own a gas grill from Cramer and know the difference. Especially at garden parties late at night when the men need a quick steak or when we don’t feel like lighting charcoal, the gas grill has always proven useful. Since I am the grill master in the family, the Napoléon is my little dream. However, we first have to build a garden shed in the spring. The garage is already full!

I’m already looking forward to the grilling season!

We also built a grill ourselves last year. Definitely fun.

Hmm, the thread is almost 7 years old now, but thanks Erica for digging it up :)

We also still have a pallet of bricks and already three grills in the garage. Nevertheless, I'm considering for fun using the bricks accordingly and possibly building a barbecue area.
Unfortunately, this thread only led to discussions about different types of grills, but not to answering the original question.

Any ideas and concrete tips from experience? :)

I would like to expand the question from grill to outdoor kitchen. Who has built/constructed something nice themselves? Very gladly also pictures during the construction phase ...
