Build a garage at the house or with 2-3 meters distance

due to our construction plans for our corner bungalow, we are planning a 6x9 meter garage, but we tend not to place the garage directly next to the house, rather with about 2m distance.

Opposite, at the same level to the left of the bungalow, there are guest rooms, a utility room, and a parlor.

We just wanted to get some opinions on this garage situation. So we tend more towards not attaching the garage to the house, but placing it about 2m away.

How have you arranged your garages?

Without a site plan and the location of the house on it, a reasoned response is unfortunately not possible, just so much, garages also have a wall thickness, are the 6m an internal dimension? Otherwise, it will be tight for 2 cars

In Brandenburg, among other things, there was a small but important rule (according to the architect). If NOT directly next to the house, then fire protection elements must be installed within a straight line distance of <=5m to the next opening on the house (window/door etc.) to the garage, and if directly next to the house, then only the door that connects both (if something like that is planned). Considered independently from the site plan. PS: our garage is directly adjacent to the house.

Just because the garage is directly attached to the house, it doesn't have to have a connection to the house. We used to have one, but we don't need it anymore.

But 6x 9 meters should be enough for two cars, right?
