We have to decide by Wednesday at the latest what we are going to do.

would you also recommend wireless for us instead of preparing the bus cable and retrofitting Free@Home (decentralized)?

Matter is supposed to come this fall and the house will not be handed over until the beginning of 2023
so it would fit and we don't have to install it immediately

What do you mean by as few two-way switches as possible?
The stairwell and hallway always have two-way switches
upstairs we even have a cross switch

Can't two-way switches be made smart wirelessly?

What I would do, I have written. Supposed to. Very naive to base house planning (!) on marketing statements. Please google it, it makes retrofitting decentralized actuators easier. But you, in particular, should stay away from that.

You would optimally install KNX. But that is not possible for us.

You would not install Free@Home because there is only this one manufacturer. You would only use radio as an emergency solution.

Sorry for asking so often but I am unfortunately completely overwhelmed and desperate.

Can you please tell me exactly what you would recommend in my situation?

Prepare and retrofit Free@Home?

Or retrofit a radio smart home system?

Both have advantages and disadvantages.

F@H is wired but you are tied to Busch-Jaeger and it is more expensive.

With radio, you might have radio problems but it is cheaper.

I would be happy if you could clearly give your recommendation again so that I can make a decision.

In the worst case, one would have to use another radio system.

You are not reading again what people write. This is what I would do in your case: Keep your hands off any systems that neither you nor your electrician can even remotely understand. To be clear: I also mean Free@Home with that.

With low doses, you can retrofit quite a bit. Alternatively, you can also take a look at OPUS from Jäger, which runs on an Enocean basis and replaces the light and shutter switches. But get used to working with software like Home Assistant and battery detectors (if detectors are desired). These are the mentioned compromises.

Thank you for your help

so it should be radio then.

Deep flush-mounted boxes are installed as standard with us

What do you mean by that? Motion detectors with batteries? Connected to power would definitely be more comfortable

Home Assistant should work after familiarization
