But all the evaluations according to lux values that are possible with KNX are actually not necessary?

Depends on what you consider necessary.

My shading system operates based on:

- Indoor/outdoor temperature
- Outdoor lux values
- Time of day, day of the week
- Presence/absence
- Position of the sun

May I ask in this context if there is something that cannot be realized with KNX or only with incredible effort (expense)?

For roller shutters, I wouldn't know what for. The simple rule applies: if it's too warm (here you can use weather report, thermometer, or whatever) and the sun is shining (also weather report or photovoltaics, etc.) Then roller shutter down, otherwise up. Measuring power at many points is, from my point of view, very expensive with KNX.

So can one say that a wireless smart home would be sufficient for us?

If everything is wireless, there should also be enough points for an adequate mesh wireless network.

And Free@Home has too many limitations for the extra cost to be worthwhile?

KNX completely decentralized and entirely self-managed is probably not recommended either, right?

With bus, the electrician can lay the bus cable parallel to the conventional wiring and we do everything ourselves afterwards (installing the decentralized actuators gradually everywhere).

With Free@Home, he can already integrate the roller shutters and weather station or leave them out.

We need to tell the electrician soon whether he should lay the bus cables or leave them out.

Hello

I have just received the offer from the electrician

He only wants 3000€ for laying the bus cable in addition to the conventional wiring.

Free@Home weather station, power supply and Access Point 2.0 another 1500€

Ohme further actuators in the rooms.

Either we install all Free@Home actuators in the rooms ourselves later.

Or we only take the bus cable for possible later knx installation

Or we just take wireless
